Registration for volunteers will begin May 1, 2010.
Come join Maine Cancer Foundation’s Volunteer Team and help us meet our goals to provide a safe and memorable experience for our athletes and support our mission.
Maine Cancer Foundation (MCF), founded in 1976, is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health and well being of Maine people by: funding scientific laboratory and clinical research, professional and public education and patient support programs. 100% of funds raised remain in Maine.
It takes a Village!
Maine Cancer Foundation only has two full time and three part time employees and depends on the generosity of people like YOU to help make these events a success. Our Board of Directors and Committee Members are 100% unpaid volunteers. With your help we are able to fund cutting edge research and patient support here in Maine.
Volunteers are needed for race day on Sunday, August 15th as well as for our pre-race expo, athlete packet pick-up and Kids Fun Run on Saturday, August 14th.
Come out and support your wife, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin best friend and the Maine Cancer Foundation! For the most part there are no special requirements for volunteering except to have fun! There are several volunteer opportunities available over our two day event. Last year we had over 300 volunteers help us set up, break down, register athletes, monitor the courses and transition areas, body marking, provide medical support and feed the athletes! Clapping, cheering and encouragement for the athletes is highly recommended!
All volunteers will receive a t-shirt, food, drink and an unforgettable experience!
Please select your preference for volunteer duties below. A brief description of each job can be found on this page. If you have a physical limitation look for an opportunity with an asterisk(*). We will do our best to accommodate your selection. Invite your family, friends or co-workers to join you!
The race Expo and Packet Pick-up will take place on Saturday August 14th from 10 am – 2 pm.
Race Day Volunteers should expect to be at the race by noon on Sunday, August 15th to be prepared for a 2:00pm race start. We are depending on you rain or shine.
A volunteer coordinator will contact you closer to the event with your assignment. Thank you for joining our team!
