Tri for a CURE - Youth Aqua/Run
Boys and Girls ages 10-15

On Saturday, August 14th, we will hold the first annual Tri for a CURE Youth Aqua/Run! The race will take place at Southern Maine Community College.
Registration will be available April 1st and entries will be limited to the first 150 children. Registration will be $35.00 per child and it will include a USAT membership. Maine Cancer Foundation is partnering with Foundations Multisport for the Youth Aqua/Run. Foundations Multisport has started a Healthy Habits Youth Triathlon Series. For more information please visit the Foundations Multisport website.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: The race will begin at 11 am at the Tri for a CURE swim start at Spring Point Headlight. The kids will swim parallel to the shore in waist deep ocean water for approximately 100 yards. Then they will transition into their sneakers and run approximately 1 mile along the shore to the Tri for a CURE finish! For course map please click here.
There will be 4 swim waves broken into age groups as follows:
10 – 12 boys 10 – 12 girls 13 – 15 boys 13 – 15 girls
Each child that participates must have a parent or guardian volunteer.
Each registered youth will receive a t-shirt and a finisher's medal. There will be awards for the top three girls & boys ages 10 – 12 and top three girls and boys ages 13 - 15. This race will not be timed.
FUNDRAISING – We encourage children to fundraise for this event. All children who raise $25.00 will win a special prize. There will be a special award for the top fundraiser!!! Fundraising totals will be calculated as of 9:30 am. NO PLEDGES ARE ALLOWED IN FUNDRAISING TOTALS.
A pledge sheet can be downloaded here for fundraising. Please bring donations with you on race day or prior to race day you can bring donations to the Maine Cancer Foundation office at 970 Baxter Boulevard – 2nd floor, Monday through Friday during regular business hours.
Parents are required to sign the release before their child can race.
