Mary's Walk - Participants FAQ
To determine top fundraising individuals and teams for event day, our fundraising deadline is midnight, March 22th. To qualify for fundraising incentives, participants have until event day, March 26th, for online donations or to turn in funds at registration.
Walking requires at $25 registration fee.
Running requires a $35 registration fee.
Children under 13 may participate for free!
You can get an official Mary's Walk/Kerrymen 5K shirt by registering before Feb 1, 2017.
Mary Kerry Libby was well known for her friendly smile, gracious charm and kindness. A much-loved mother, wife, sister, daughter and friend, Mary lost her courageous battle with Burkitt’s Lymphoma on March 7, 1997 at the age of 44. The first Mary’s Walk was held on the Sunday before St. Patrick’s Day in March 1999.
The event has grown every year, and is now the biggest cancer walk in Maine. In 2016, Mary's Walk saw more than 3,200 registered participants.
No. Everyone is welcome to participate, but we strongly encourage people to try fundraising. You will be surprised how easy it is to raise $50 or 100 dollars just by asking friends and family.
It's up to you! The 5K race begins in front of the Kerrymen Pub and offers chip-timing. The Walk begins in front of Thornton Academy.
