Maine Cancer Foundation is dedicated to reducing Maine's cancer incidence and mortality rates by funding research, prevention, early detection and access to care, with 100% of funds staying in Maine.

How We Fight Cancer:

Our grant review committee meets three times each year to consider the applications we have received, and then makes recommendations to our board of directors.

Traditionally, we have dedicated ~80% of our annual funding to cancer research efforts located here in Maine. Many donors are surprised to find out how much world-class cancer research happens at places like The Jackson Laboratory or the Maine Medical Center Research Institute.

While research is the pathway to cancer cures, we also provide over $200,000 in grants annually to support community-based impact programs. Screening, early detection, access to care and post-treatment support are all vital to the health and well-being of Maine's cancer patients.

We hope you find the fight against cancer as interesting and as important as we do, and we thank you again for making it possible.
