Healthy Community Coalition of Franklin County Receives $10,000 Grant for Colorectal and Prostate Screening Program

Friday, February 15, 2013

We were very pleased to visit the Healthy Community Coalition of Franklin County on Thursday and present them with a grant award of $10,000 to help support their prostate and colorectal cancer screening program.

Education and screenings will take place in multiple health care settings through February and March, both at HCC's Mobile Health Unit, and through door-to-door visits.

A significant community-wide media campaign will support these efforts with complimentary messages. It is strongly advised that everyone over the age of 50 speak with their health-care provider and follow recommended screening guidelines. Prostate and Colorectal cancers have a high degree of survivability when detected in their early stages. Don't wait! Early detection saves lives.
